|
Training is provided through the Provincial Emergency Program (PEP) who contracts with the Justice Institute of BC to provide training programs for volunteers. The Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) Course is essential for all members of the NSAR. The introductory course will be offered twice during the year, depending on the demand of students at no cost. Volunteers are expected to complete the modules and elements set out in the GSAR record and obtain their Standard First Aid Ticket (or equivalent) on their own before they can be certified for GSAR. The GSAR Course is a prerequisite for most other courses through the Justice Institute of BC, or usually a commitment to SAR for in house training:
