|
NSAR members are phoned My Messenger. Staging areas are given, and members are expected to arrive, with all their necessary gear and 24-hour pack, as soon as possible, In most situations, our Mobile Emergency Operations Command (MEOC) is search base and members are told to report here at the Staging area. Once assembled, the search managers will issue directions to Team Leaders. Each Team Leader is responsible for directing his/her team in search activities. The search commences. There will be a Sign In Registration Form that each member is required to sign at every search. All search members must Sign in and Out stating the time they left home and their expected time on returning home. At a search, time is recorded from the moment the members received the call out. Mileage to and from the search base will also be compensated for, so it is important to keep a record of the kilometers traveled and report them on the Registration Form. Meals will be compensated for if searches last more than three hours. At training sessions, each member must sign in and out for the duration that they are training. Signing in and out assures that all members are accounted for at the end of the training session. It is also required to ensure that all members are covered by WCB if any injuries or accidents occur. |
